With high-end air purification still a relatively new market, manufacturers need to ensure clean air devices meet strict safety and emissions standards for the health and safety of end users. Radic8 devices are tested for regulatory compliance and certification by the world’s top regulatory bodies.

Radic8 worked with UL International GmbH, an organisation with both CBTL and NRTL status, to provide valuable third-party, science-backed certification that is recognized and accepted worldwide.
A Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) is recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as meeting the legal requirements to perform testing and certification of products using consensus-based test standards. An NRTL-certified product demonstrates that it has been tested by an accredited, competent, and objective third party.
Similar to an NRTL, a Certification Body Testing Laboratory (CBTL) is recognized by the International Electrotechnical Committee Electrotechnical Equipment (IECEE) as meeting the legal requirements to perform testing and certification of products using consensus-based test standards.
UL is the highest authority for safety assurance in the USA, and listing requires that the device operate within a strict set of parameters, including temperature, pressure, relative humidity, and general user safety, among others.
The cUL mark applies to products intended for the Canadian market that have been tested and found to comply with the highest safety requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code issued by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
The FCC regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in the US. Its limits provide protection against harmful interference in indoor installations for compliance with its radiation and electrical safety standards.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. It establishes emissions limits for a variety of byproducts and airborne pollutants for the state of California, enforcing some of the toughest standards in the world.
The International Electrotechnical Commission System for Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) Certification Body (CB) Scheme is an international system for the mutual acceptance of product safety test reports and certificates for electrical and electronic equipment, devices, and components.
The Conformité Européenne (CE) represents a manufacturer's declaration that products meet EU safety, health, or environmental requirements. The CE marking is required for goods sold in the European Economic Area (EEA), but is also found on products sold elsewhere that have been manufactured to EEA standards.
The UKCA represents a manufacturer's declaration that products meet UK safety, health, or environmental requirements. The mark is required for certain products placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most products that previously required the CE mark.
The RoHS directive aims to prevent the risks posed to human health and the environment related to the management of electronic and electrical waste, and restricts the use of ten hazardous substances, including lead and mercury.
REACH is a European Union regulation that addresses the production and use of chemical substances and their potential impacts on both human health and the environment. Unlike RoHS, which only applies to hazardous substances, REACH applies to all chemical substances that are used and produced.
The VK Pro, VK Air, and Hextio are electrically safe, ozone and emissions-free, and safe for use in indoor environments.
* The VK Pro, VK Air, and Hextio emit less than 0.005 ppm of ozone over a 24-hour period, falling below the acceptable zero-ozone emission limit required by leading authorities on consumer safety standards in North America. With filters removed, total UV irradiance measured at 0cm from all Radic8 device outlets is less than 1 mW/m2.
