VIRUSKILLER™ COVID-19 Air Decontamination Results

Tests conducted on Radic8’s VK 401 found that VIRUSKILLER™ technology was effective in deactivating COVID-19, as well as other respiratory pathogens.

Once again VIRUSKILLER™ has been put through its paces, and this time by a leading biotechnology testing and research firm based in Hyderabad, India. In partnership with Oorja Energy — one of Radic8’s most critical distribution partners — we took our VK 401 through a rigorous set of bioaerosol tests under strict laboratory conditions.

The 16 pathogens tested against included:

  • Chlamydophilia pneumoniae
  • Mycoplasma pneumoniae
  • Legionella pneumophila
  • Bordetella pertussis
  • Bordetella parapertussis
  • Streptococcus pneumoniae
  • Haemophilius influenza (various strains)
  • SARS-Cov-2 (Novel Corona Virus).

PROCEDURE

Sample testing was carried out in a Biosafety Level 2 cabinet, and the analysis was performed using RT-PCR tests in accordance with WHO recommendations. The VIRUSKILLER™ VK 401 was enclosed, and a small inlet was created to inject the aerosolized positive control. Filter membranes were placed at different locations on the device to collect the aerosols before filtering. Filter membranes were then placed at the outlets to collect the exhausted aerosols, and were tested for the presence of any live pathogens.

RESULTS

The test results show that none of the 16 pathogens tested were present after passing through the VK 401 unit.

The successful test results again confirm the effectiveness of our patented Reactor Chamber in removing airborne pathogens, further validating our world-class, no-compromises air decontamination. A big thanks to Oorja Energy for submitting the VK 401 for another intense round of scrutiny — as always, we’re pleased with the results and welcome yet another rigorous test on the record
